Player Pathway

Aligned with Ontario Soccer’s LTPD Principals, ISC has created a multi-stage player pathway structure that incorporates four (4) distinct player education pathways.

Movement between pathways and phases is seamless and supported by supplemental programs to assist a players progression and advancement.

Player Education at ISC (Overview)

It all starts with the Grassroots Soccer, which forms the first experience and base for all future soccer development. Our Club has adapted a multi-phase approach that aligns with our pathways.

Grassroots Pathway - U3 - U13

  • Soccer starts with our "Initiation Phase (U3-U6)” which is open to all players and with no distinct level of separation
  • Players then progress into our “Foundation Phase (U7-U9)” which has two pathways: a) Recreational players interested in house league play and b) Development players interested in a more competitive pathway.
  • Players then progress to our "Improve (U10-U13) Phase" which also includes two (2) pathways - Recreational and Development.

Recreational or Competitive Pathways (U14+)

At U14, players have the choice to the continue in the recreational or talent competitive pathway, depending on their skill level and commitment.

Recreational - players participate in the "Improve U14+ Phase" with weekly internal 11v11 competition.

Talent Competitive - players begin in the "Advancement (U14-U15) Phase" with 2-3 weekly training sessions and competition against other Clubs in Huronia. U16 players progress into the Excellence Phase with 2-3 weekly training sessions and competition against other Clubs in Huronia and across Ontario.

High Performance Pathway (U14+)

The "Excellence U14+ Phase" represents the highest level of Soccer in Ontario (akin to AAA Hockey).  The Innisfil Soccer Club currently does not offer this pathway for its members. Players within the Club that show the level of development that meets the High Performance Pathway will be recommended to partner Clubs in Ontario that align philosophically and geographically to the Innisfil Soccer Club.
