As Canada public health authorities develop guidelines to lift some restrictions on soccer in provinces in a responsible way.
The Innisfil Soccer Club has been collaborating with several soccer clubs around the country,
to help ensure that we are prepared for a safe, organized phased return to soccer.
We at the Innisfil soccer club have been planning for several scenarios based on delayed starts, including early, mid July or August start dates. These plans are aimed at ensuring that recreational and competitive programs canl be completed, using various models, Including extending the season and festival style tournaments to guarantee maximum games.
We are also planning programs that are small group skill development programs open to all leveals of player, that include a max 5 players per development coach, this will help accelerate all participant's development.
The latest information on Phase 1 soccer will be training only with no contact.
Our (NEW) Small group development programs, will be run by the Technical Director and the Club Head Coach, here are a list of programs that will be open to all players from Beginners, Intermediate and High-performance soccer players:
Summer training only; Summer camps weekly, ADP, ODP clinics , weekend Skills programs , road shows involving competition, speed factory ABC.’s and finishing school.
All programs and training would be Skills based for player development: 1 Coach 5 Players.
When there is a start date all parents and members will be sent our safe return to soccer policy, which will help parents understand all protocols and procedures that are in place to safely train or play soccer.
At this point we are preparing for the start date and would appreciate your support in keeping the program alive. We are a not-for-profit community soccer club, as such we depend on registration fees to operate seasonal programs. we are very optimistic about the 2020 summer soccer program.
Nearly 40% of our expected registrations were received prior to the Covid 19 shutdown, thank you to all the families that registered for the summer program.
Families that have not yet registered for the Outdoor Recreational Program, but would like to register may do so by confirming their place today online. If we are unable to start or complete the season. we will be providing a credit towards future indoor and outdoor program fees paid for those programs that are shortened or cancelled. The credit can be applied to any of our future programs and for any member of your family.
We are continuing to take advice from all the appropriate health and sports agencies. Please follow our website for the most up to date information.
In the meantime, I will be continuing to forward our weekly player development sessions to all competitive players, recreational players can also join this program to help keep them active while improving their individual skill set. Please contact david@innisfilsoccer.ca
