• Skill Level: May range from beginner to intermediate, with a focus on improving casually if desired.

• Commitment Level: Prefers minimal obligations, such as no weekly practices or tournaments.

• Availability: Likely seeks flexible scheduling, such as once-a-week games or pickup matches.

• Competitive Nature: Enjoys friendly play rather than high-stakes competition.

• Preferred Environment: Relaxed, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere without pressure to excel.

U3-7 PROGRAM:

The first phase of a player’s education at ISC begins within the “Initiation Phase”. This phase is aligned with LTPD’s “Active Start” Phase of Development and is open to all players (ages U3-U7) and is focused on establishing a Positive First Experience into Soccer and a solid foundation of fundamental skills

Focus = “Fall in Love with the Ball”.

Players at this initial phase are coached by volunteers and parents with oversight from Club Technical staff. The curriculum follows Ontario Soccer’s LTPD Active Start principles and a 4 corners approach to development.

  • Players at U3 begin in a “Parent & Child” environment that introduces fun activities with the ball. NO league play is offered at this age and training frequency is usually 1 x week with 12 week programs in the Summer.
  • Players at U4, U5, U6, & U7 progress into a “squad” environment that introduces Small Sided Games (3v3 and 4v4 games). NO formal league play is offered at this age and training frequency is usually 1 x week with 12 week programs in the Summer.

U8-13 PROGRAM:

The second and third phases of a player’s education at ISC is made up of the “Foundation Phase” from U8-U9 and the "Improve Phase" U10-U13. These phases are aligned with LTPD’s Fundamentals & Learn to Train Phases of Development and are open to all players U8 to U13.

As this is a progressive phase, players graduating from the “Initiation Phase” now have the option to continue with the Recreational Pathway or progress into our Development Pathway. Players who remain in the recreational pathway are coached by parents & volunteers with oversight by the Clubs Technical Staff. The curriculum follows Ontario Soccer’s LTPD Fundamentals and Learn to Train principles within a 4 corners approach to development.

  • Players at this level form into small teams to play 5v5 (U8/U9); 7v7 (U10/U11) and 9v9 (U12/U13) games in our Internal Club competition. Training frequency is usually 1 x week with league play in the Summer.

As this is also a progressive phase, players graduating from the U14 "Improve Phase" now have the option to continue with the Recreational Pathway or progress to the Competitive Pathway.  In addition, throughout the IMPROVE 14+ Phase, players can move between the two Pathways as their ability, interest, commitment evolves. Within the IMPROVE 14+ Phase, players are coached by parents & volunteers with oversight by the Club's Technical Staff. The curriculum follows Ontario Soccer’s LTPD Soccer for Life principles within a 4 corners approach to development.
