In the spring of 1976, the Alcona Minor Soccer League (AMSL) was conceived to meet the growing needs of an expanding community with on minor sports program during the summer season.

The vision of its fonders, was simple: to provide a fun, healthy, community-enhancing outlet for area children which required minimum expense and inconvenience for parents.

The AMSL began small with a house league of just four U5-U8 teams and four U9-U12 teams. Games were played on Thursday nights at Goodfellow School. The cost a mere two dollars per family, regardless of the number of children.

Response to the first season was positive and AMSL continued with this same format, with some minor alterations, for the next four years.

In 1980, one field at Goodfellow School was closed, so play was split to two separate locations: Goodfellow, and Innisfil Park, still on Thursdays.

Growth continued and by 1976, AMSL had about one hundred registrations, which built to almost two hundred by 1979.

In 1981, the age divisions were expanded and representative teams were formed.

In 2001, the AMSL transitioned into the Innisfil Soccer Club (ISC) and in 2002, “Stampeders” was chosen to epitomize the spirit of the Club.

From its inception with 8 teams, soccer has now grown to become the most popular summer sport in Innisfil; approximately 1500 kregistrations (youth-to-adult), over 60 teams, the Club is the largest non-profit is Innisfil and the 2nd largest Soccer Club in Huronia District.

Now in its 4th decade, ISC is committed to advancing the Beautiful Game in our beautiful community!
